DDR
Main Page I don't really know where to start so I'll just start w/ me. I asked my cousin 2 buy me some games from the Philippines (bootlegs ya know). I found a list of games and thought that "Dance Dance Revolution" would be another Bust-A-Groove kinda game. So I asked for it. Got the game, it was cool, but I didn't have a dance mat. That summer ('99) I went to Las Vegas. Circus Circus had DDR Internet Ranking Version. I found out I sucked really bad...I could pass Kung-Fu Fighting but not Butterfly...dammit. Now I needed a mat really bad. Returning back 2 Chicago, Gameworks opened up and had DDR US 1.5!! Woohoo!! I just kept playin from there, first for the crowd, second for score, third for freestyle. I gave up on all that, now I play 4 me. DDR itself is a game from Japan released April '99. It started there and became an instant hit. At first the point was to get the highest score possible and max combos. But DDR was meant for something else: freestyle. Crazy routines, cool moves, and more started showing up. Machines popped up in California and the nearby areas. Soon DDR hit many places in the US. Teams and rivalries formed. But that's nothing next to the friendships and fun that DDR has brought among many groups of ppl. OK so this is a shitty intro but I'm just tryin to say that DDR is an addictive game that doesn't really make one person better than another in personal style. Sure maybe that guy can kick ur ass at score but he probably can't slide the way u do. Are you ready? |
